Congratulations Susan, you have done it again! I love the township of Barrington - whilst reading page after page, you feel like you are coming home. It is quite an art that Susan has mastered! Once again she brings the characters to life, both existing and new ones! It is a joy to watch the relationship develop between Ayla and Alex - to see their love bloom amongst the bees 🐝.
This book is a definitive page turner and you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much Susan for allowing me the privilege to read this book in advance - I absolutely loved it! I could not go be bed last night/morning until I finished it! If you have loved the previous books in “The Barrington Series”, you will not be disappointed! For those who have been introduced to Barrington and its people, give it a go! Highly recommended 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
What a bee-autiful story! 🐝🍯
I can always trust that when I sit down with a book Susan has written, I will be enthralled in it and The Bee Whisperer was no exception!
There was so much I loved about this story from being back at Barrington (always a pleasure)and catching up with characters from previous Barrington books, to learning the importance of bees, the lovely quotes at the start of every second chapter from The real Bee Whisperer herself and others and the beauty and support of (well most of) the residents of the Barrington community.
The calm, confidence and beauty of Ayla shone through Susan's writing and you feel the beautiful aura of her character emitting from the pages. Ayla's daughter Skye was also such a delight and full of vim and vigour.
I loved Ayla's story with both Alex and Harry and the way the situations with both of them were handled. Perfection! Just such a delight to read!
The Bee Whisperer is like a hot chocolate with marshmallows on a cold day. Get ready to snuggle up and enjoy.
Ayla Forrest, Bee Whisperer, is strong, smart, confident and a beautiful mum to her daughter Skye. Her profession and lifestyle are idyllic. The reason behind this, is Ayla's determination to live a life of connection with the environment that surrounds her. When she moves to Barrington, she is judged for her ability to relax into the natural world. There are the usual small town busybodies and Ayla is faced with challenges.
When Alex MacIntosh, Principal at the local school calls for her help to remove a swarm of bees, people start to learn a little about what Ayla does and assume they know who she is. The friendships Ayla makes and the warm welcome of many of the townspeople will make readers want to pack up and move to Barrington NOW! The romance within the story is pure and sweet with just the right amount of spice.
The main characters are unique in personality, lovable and inspiring. From saving the bees and humanity to helping people who have experienced domestic violence, we see a host of people who care about others and the world. @embodybee is quoted saying that 'Honey can make you fall in love with the landscape on a deep cellular level.' Susan Mackie's writing has the ability to make readers share in the passion of the Bee Whisperer, gaining some understanding as to how and why we all should be working to save the bees. Susan vividly describes the landscape and beauty of the Barrington area. I felt like I was resting in the mountains, too.
The Bee Whisperer is like pollination; 'an intimate dance,' between fiction, facts, heart, mind and love. Susan has shared with readers an inspiring story that is close to her heart. A mother's love is pure and a force like no other. When a book is written from within a mother's heart, it creates a book like no other. If you've read the first two books in the Barringotn series, you are certain to love this one. The Bee Whisperer is my favourite book in the series. A five star read that I will wholeheartedly recommend to every booklover I know.
A swarm of bees are holding school principal, Alex Macintosh’s students at bay. He reaches out to Ayla Forrest, 'the bee whisperer'. Ayla is a newcomer to Barrington and is hoping the community will be where she and her daughter Skye will settle; however, not everyone is as welcoming as Alex and his daughter. Ayla is a strong, yet gentle character who had me in her corner from the start. A lovely, heartwarming story – can’t wait for the next book from Susan Mackie!
I have said it before and I will say it again, I want to move to Barrington, I reckon it is a fabulous place to live, so many lovely people live there and the newest person is bee whisperer Ayla Forrest and her delightful five year old daughter Skye, things are going to change for school principal Alex Macintosh and his daughter Ruby when a swarm of bees arrive on the first day of term.
Alex needs help with the bees and calls around to get suggestions he is put in contact with new resident Ayla Forrest who arrives in her kombi van and with the utmost ease she moves the swarm into a box and takes them back to her place, everyone is stunned at the way she moved them and Alex gets a new program organized for the whole school with the help of Ayla this brings them together as Alex, Ruby and the students learn so much about bees and the importance of them to nature and the world.
Ayla and Skye have moved around a lot but it is nearly time for Skye to start school and she needs and wants to settle, will Barrington be the place for them to find their place and happiness, she has purchased the old resort and intends to set up her business, Ayla is a strong person who has her views about life and is a naturalist and has often been pushed out of past places by gossip, but she truly hopes this is the place to stay as her feelings for not only Alex are growing but she is making lots of new friends.
I loved this story not only the beautiful romance between Alex and Ayla, but catching up with the friends from previous books in the series but also learning so much about bees and what they do for the environment and food we eat. MS Mackie has captured me from page one, she had me cheering from the sidelines, seeing Alex and Ayla and Ruby and Skye find the happiness and love that they deserve filled me with joy and happiness there were lots of smiles as they stood together for what they believed. It is such a happy story filled with joy and love and a must read, I do highly recommend this one.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.
