I absolutely loved this book. It felt like a warm hug, with everything I enjoy: the peaceful countryside, supportive community, good friends, nature, coffee, tea, a cosy little bookshop, indie authors, and reading lists that make my (ever-growing) book pile even more exciting. And, of course, how could I say no to the invitation to 'Say Yes to the Cake!'

The Secret Reader draws you right back into the beautiful Barrington country town with all its familiar characters you’ve grown to love. Susan has such a brilliant way of continuing on from the previous books whilst still keeping it fresh and introducing wonderful new characters. Always love making a nice cup of tea, a cheeky treat and settling in with a Barrington series book and this was no exception, thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend! Thank you Susan, more please! :)

Going back to Barrington feels like going home to visit Old Friends, and also meeting some new ones!
Loved meeting Hanna and catching up with Harry Stewart (yes have to use his full name).
Emotion filled, with lots of Giggles too!
